Eleo

Founder of Coffeecol

As the son of a first-generation coffee farmer, I grew up in Colombia knowing exactly where my organic food and coffee came from. My family instilled the importance of serving the local community through quality products and transparency.

I moved to the tri-state area in the 1980s with a deep longing to bring these values to my new country. Chasing the true American Dream, I began constructing a business plan following the financial crisis of 2008. In 2012 our café, Coffeecol, opened in Teaneck, NJ, and in 2020 I built my own roastery facility in Colombia.

Our gourmet coffee is sustainably and ethically sourced. Each bean is handpicked on an organic, family-run farm in Colombia that has been around since the 1970s. From there, the beans reach our roastery facility in the Filandia, Quindío region to enhance their natural flavors before reaching their final destination on the east coast.

Today, Coffeecol has built a community of customers who not only love our coffee, but believe in our mission to inspire, educate, and serve others. 25% of profits from our coffee beans go directly to supporting small farmers and local workers. In September, we donated educational supplies to farmer’s children and plan to provide clothing and food to families this December.

Our desire to serve local communities and support small businesses perfectly aligns with M&T’s Virtual Spotlight Shop. We hope coffee lovers will explore the Coffeecol difference.
