How do I log in on my desktop computer?
Click the Log In button in the upper right corner of the navigation bar. When you click the button, a larger pop up window will open covering the current page you are on. This looks different then the previous dropdown, but you are in the right place. Fields for Log In are not changing. The only thing that has changed is the visual look and feel.
How do I log in on my mobile device?
The banking Log In experience is similar on mobile phones and devices. For a more mobile-friendly experience, we recommend accesses online banking through the M&T App, rather than through a browser. However, you can still access mtb.com on your mobile device with a browser. Click the Log In button to access the online banking login modal.
How do I close the Log In Window?
To close the Log In modal, click the “x” in the top right corner. The current page you were on will reappear once the modal is closed. To open the Log In modal again, simply click the Log In button.
What happens when I return to the site if I’ve logged in before?
When you return to the site, and have successfully logged into online banking before, you will automatically see the Log In window.
Why does the menu bar look different?
Unlike our old site, there are no dropdowns on the menu bar. The new menu enables customers to locate, business unit pages, interior pages and the Log In modal more easily. Visitors can access select business unit homepages from the new navigation bar. These links provide direct access to information for retail, business and commercial banking. New products and services sections also feature high-value interior pages.
How do I access the search tool?
You can now access the search tool four different ways: from the menu bar, the middle of the page, through the menu icon or footer. Clicking any of the search icons will open the search window.
How do I locate the nearest bank?
You can now use the banking center locator in the navigation bar to find your nearest bank.
Any alerts for weather, bank location closures and other reasons that require an alert will appear as a banner across the site.

Change is important, especially when it helps our customers grow their financial future. The redesigned site allows us to share more personalized content that is relevant to your banking needs. The new navigation bar and search options were redesigned to help you find what you are looking for more easily.
