Portfolio Management Account (PMA)

With this cash management service from M&T, you can manage your finances and investments in one place – making the most of your available cash balance.

Your Cash Management Solution from M&T Securities

Our Portfolio Management Account (PMA) is a cash management account that combines the banking activities of an M&T Bank checking account with the investment capabilities of an M&T Securities, Inc. brokerage account.

This solution is designed to provide you a comprehensive view of your funds as well as the ability to manage day-to-day finances and investments. You'll be able to:

  • Write checks against your available balance
  • Buy and sell mutual funds
  • Trade stocks, bonds and options
  • Have the available balance in your cash management account automatically transferred to an investment account of your choice

How does the PMA work?

The two components of your PMA – an M&T Bank checking account and an M&T Securities brokerage account – are designed to automatically work together to transfer cash balances from your checking account to your investment account.

As you perform everyday transactions using your checking account, funds transfer between your checking and brokerage account.
