Retire with confidence

Get a complimentary financial plan assessment and determine how well you’re positioned to reach your retirement goals.

Your retirement is the heart of your financial plan.

We understand you’ve worked hard to get where you are today. Our job is to understand your retirement needs, wants, and wishes—and work with you to build a plan that considers your entire financial picture, giving you the confidence today to be better prepared for tomorrow.

What does your second chapter look like?

Retirement is about new directions, fulfilling passions, trying the untried, or just doing what makes you happy.  And newly released research from M&T Bank’s 2021 U.S. Emerging Affluent Survey finds that, as the pandemic recedes and affluent Americans reengage, almost a third (29%) report they are considering retiring earlier - a shift that aligns with a larger movement of Amercians who are reevaluating what's important in the wake of 2020.

That’s why when it comes to planning your next adventure, we start with an understanding of your expectations—as well as your concerns.  We can help you consider your short- and long-term goals and create a plan to help you pursure your financial objectives.

There are many different ways to prepare for retirement. We can help you find the right fit and create a customized plan for you.

A 401(k) and 403(b) are tax-advantaged retirement plans offered by many employers to their employees through automatic payroll withholdings. Oftentimes, employers offer matching contributions based on a percentage of an employee’s annual salary.

A traditional IRA is a tax-deferred personal retirement account that allows you to make annual contributions separate from your employer-sponsored 401(k). The contributions may be tax-deducible, but you should confirm with a tax advisor.

A Roth IRA is a personal retirement account that allows investors within certain income brackets to make non-deductible annual contributions with after-tax dollars and to withdraw principal and earnings tax-free during retirement. Withdrawals of earnings prior to age 59 ½ or prior to the account being opened for 5 years, whichever is later, may result in a 10% IRS penalty tax. Limitations and restrictions may apply.

Social Security is a federal insurance program that will pay you a percentage of your salary based on contributions you’ve made over the course of your career. It’s available to almost all American workers, but should only represent a portion of your retirement plan.

Simple brokerage accounts, or investment accounts, in which you invest after-tax dollars in markets, are another way to prepare for retirement. Although there are no limits to how much you can put in a brokerage account, you will not receive tax benefits for investing this way.
