How are M&T and LPL Financial working together?
M&T and LPL Financial entered into an agreement with the goal of providing you a modern investing experience. You gain access to LPL’s advanced technology and broad catalogue of products, all offered through the same trusted professional you worked with at M&T Securities.
What just happened to my investments and insurance policies?
Put simply, you still have full access to your assets; they just have a new home. Your investments and policies were transferred to new accounts held at LPL. They are still your holdings and you now have an account agreement with LPL.
Has my relationship with my financial professional changed?
Your financial professional is still employed by M&T Bank but now operates under the brand M&T Financial Services. You will continue to work with your same financial professional, who now has access to more robust technology, products, and planning tools to help you pursue your goals.
What fees will I be charged?
You will not be charged any fees directly related to this transition. Going forward, fees associated with activity on your account may be different than they previously were. For a full list of fees, please review LPL’s fee schedules at lpl.com/disclosures/fee-schedules.html.
Did my account number or routing number change?
Yes, the account number(s) and routing number for your investment accounts have changed. Please contact your financial professional to get your new account number(s). You can also review your account information by logging in to Account View. The routing number for LPL Financial is 021000018.
I have recurring, automatic transfers set up on my account. Will those continue or is any action required on my part?
If you had fixed-amount, recurring transfer instructions that automatically direct a set amount of cash from your brokerage or advisory account to a separate deposit account, those instructions have been maintained. No action is required on your part. If you had a percentage-based redemption, you will need to work with your advisor to establish a fixed-amount transfer instruction to resume transfers.
Any wires or transfer instructions initiated from an account that isn’t your brokerage or advisory account will need to be updated to reflect your account’s new account number and routing number.
What happened to my Portfolio Managed Account (PMA)?
As part of our agreement with LPL, M&T is no longer able to offer you the M&T PMA. On June 7 your PMA was split into a brokerage account held at LPL and a deposit account held at M&T Bank, and the automatic sweep was discontinued. For more details on how to fund your deposit account or the benefits of your new deposit account, please contact your financial professional.
When will I get my first statement?
You will receive your first account statement from M&T Financial Services in July. Your final account statement from M&T Securities will come in July as well.

Have your offerings changed?
Our professionals now have access to a broader set of investments and insurance options made available through LPL Financial.
Have any of my investments changed as a result of this transition?
No, your investments remain invested as they were prior to the transition.
Has the way I log in changed?
If you previously had access to your accounts online, go to myaccountviewonline.com, click “Sign Up,” and follow the on-screen instructions to set new credentials. Your username will be your email address when you log in.
If this is the first time you have ever accessed your accounts online, contact your financial professional to enroll in Account View. Click the activation link in the confirmation message sent to your email and follow the on-screen instructions. Your username will be your email address when you log in.
Once your new credentials are set up, simply:
- Visit myaccountviewonline.com or;
- Click “Log In” from the top banner of this site and select “Account view” from the drop-down options at the bottom of the login screen
Please note that accounts held directly with a mutual fund, annuity, or other insurance company will not show up until that company has changed the broker of record on your account to LPL. Reach out to your financial professional if you have any questions.
Whom do I contact if I need help?
Your financial professional is now your primary point of contact for any actions, questions, or concerns regarding your account. Please contact him or her if you require assistance. If you need to speak with a member of the ISG team, please call 800-252-2082 for Baltimore or 800-724-2120 for Buffalo. If you would like to place a trade, please call the Trade Desk at 800-724-7788, option 2; M-F, 8:30AM - 4:00PM.
