Welcome to M&T Bank. Below are key dates and important actions to take to prepare for your transition to M&T Bank.

Transition weekend is coming September 2 - 5

Here are important steps to take now.

  • Make sure you know your People's United User ID and password. You'll use them to log in to M&T Mobile and Online Banking for the first time
  • Confirm your email and contact information are up to date online. We’ll be sending you updates on M&T Mobile and Online Banking, including instructions on how to log in for the first time
  • Review your bill payments and transfers. If you need to update any bill payments or transfers, please make arrangements prior to September 2, 2022. After September 2, 2022, you will not be able to schedule, update or edit any bill payments or transfers until M&T Mobile and Online Banking become available 
  • Save or print your online statements and documents. People's United online statements and documents will not be viewable through M&T Online Banking. However, you will be able to view up to 18 months of transaction history for your checking and savings accounts by logging in to M&T Online Banking.

Zelle® 

Use Zelle® to easily send and receive money from people you know and trust.

U.S. checking or savings account required to use Zelle®. Transactions between enrolled consumers typically occur in minutes. Zelle® and the Zelle® related marks are wholly owned by Early Warning Services, LLC and are used herein under license. M&T Bill Pay

Schedule one-time or recurring bill payments from your checking account.

M&T Online  and Mobile Bill Pay cannot be used to make payments: (i) to payees located outside the United States; (ii) to taxing authorities or other government entities; (iii) required under court order (e.g. child support); or (iv) in connection with any unlawful activity or purpose.

Help protect your account with timely updates about spending, security and other activities that impact your money.

M&T Bank Alerts are available for your M&T Card through M&T Online Banking. Suspicious activity alerts notify customers of certain potentially fraudulent activity on their M&T Card. Alerts are designed to be a helpful account management tool, but they do not identify all potential fraudulent activity and are not a substitute for security and fraud precautions including, but not limited to, verifying statements and being aware of your outstanding payments and available balance. For your protection, “suspicious activity” and “card PIN change” email alerts cannot be disabled. M&T Bank is not liable for any losses customers may incur due to an alert not being delivered. Your mobile carrier's text messaging and data charges may apply.

You can use the M&T Mobile Banking App to manage your accounts on your mobile device.

M&T Flash Funds

Provides the option, for a fee, to make an eligible mobile deposit immediately available for withdrawals or purchases.

Deposits are subject to verification. Funds not available for immediate withdrawal. Deposit limits and other terms, conditions, fees and restrictions may apply. Business day is defined as Monday through Friday, except Federal Holidays. 
If selected, your mobile deposit will be immediately available. The fee for this service is 2% of the total check amount ($2 minimum charge). The fee will be deducted from your account following the completion of your deposit. If the deposit is made during our nightly processing, it will not be available to pay debit items that are processed for payment during that night’s processing. However, it would be immediately available for withdrawal.

Below are answers to some of your questions.

You can view your daily and 30-day limits in the payment screen by selecting the question mark next to "Limits". A text box will appear to show the remaining amount available for sending in the current 24-hour period. Send limits are set by M&T Bank.

You can choose to receive alerts via email, text or app notification. You will automatically be enrolled in two security alerts—Suspicious activity & PIN changed—which you will receive via email. You can also enroll in a range of optional alerts.

Payments set up under the eBills service can be scheduled using M&T Bill Pay.

NOTE: When scheduling a bill payment, the funds will be withdrawn based on the date the bill payment is to be delivered to the payee (“Delivery Date”).

If you previously made credit card and loan payments using Online Bill Pay, you can schedule an internal transfer completed from and M&T checking or savings account to make M&T credit card and M&T loan payments.

Keep your information out of the mail and easily accessible.

Storage for electronic statements if accessed via M&T Online Banking: up to 7 years for checking, savings, CDs, credit cards, installment loans, lines of credit, mortgages and home equity accounts. For most accounts, by enrolling in M&T's online statements and notices, you will no longer receive paper statements. You may, however, switch back to paper at any time.
